Pakistan welcomes resumption of Iranian banks' activities
Governor of State Bank of Pakistan Ashraf Mahmood Wathra said on Friday that his country welcomes of resumption of activity of Iranian banks in Pakistan.

According to IRNA, speaking to Iran's Ambassador to Pakistan Mehdi Honardoust, Wathra said, 'After elimination of sanctions, there is no more any obstacle on the way of re-opening of Iranian banks in Pakistan.'

About ten days ago, Pakistan State Bank issued a statement, informing various banks of Pakistan that there is no longer any impediment to cooperation between Iranian and Pakistani banks and banking operations will be carried out from that time on.

Also about three weeks ago, Pakistani government officially announced fall of the wall of sanctions in relations between the country and Iran.

The Pakistani official also said the ground is prepared for opening of LCs by Iranian and Pakistani banks for the Iranian and Pakistani traders.
