Pakistani MP condemns Iranian Consulate blast

Pakistani Member of Parliament (MP) on Friday strongly condemned suicide attack at Iranian consulate in north western city of Peshawar.

Talking to IRNA Senator Kamil Ali Agha of Pakistan Muslim League-Q said that the cowardly act is aimed at damaging the friendly ties between the two brotherly countries.

A suicide bomber had blown himself up on Monday evening at the security forces checkpoint outside the consulate, killing three FC men. The consulate and its staff had remained safe in the incident.

Kamil Ali Agha said that the attack is part of an international conspiracy. He added that such attacks have been regularly taking place in Pakistan in which innocent people are being killed.

"But this time the terrorists have targeted the consulate of our brotherly country which should be condemned in strongest words," said the lawmaker.

He was of the view that culprits behind the attack must be arrested and punished for the heinous crime.

The Parliamentarian went on to say that people of Iran and Pakistan are tied in strong bond of friendship and the relations would further strengthen in times to come.

The Senator added that the act is a very sensitive issue and both countries by their joint efforts should undermine the conspiracy to create misunderstanding between the two friendly states.

Kamil Ali Agha said that the kidnapping of Iranian border guards by some terrorist group is also part of a conspiracy against Iran-Pakistan relationship.
