Liberation of Baitul Muqaddas religious duty of all Muslims: Indian scholar

Liberation of Baitul Muqaddas, the highly religious place for the Muslims world-wide, from the clutches of Zionist Regime is a religious duty to all Muslims, said an Indian Shiite religious scholar Tuesday in New Delhi.

In an exclusive interview with IRNA, Maulana Syed Jalal Haider Naqvi, President of Shaheed Motahhari Society in Delhi said: “The International Quds Day, conceived by the late leader of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini in 1979, is a ceremony to demonstrate the solidarity by Muslims worldwide to raise the voices against the illegal occupation of Zionists over Baitul Muqaddas (The First Qibla of Muslims), from where Prophet Mohammad (SAWA) ascended to the heavens, and in support for the legitimate rights of innocent people of Palestine.

He further said that Imam Khomeini by designating last Friday of the blessed month of Ramadhan as Quds International Day, invited the Muslims of the world to join together to sever the hand of the usurper regime and its supporters.

He noted that continuing excavation works undertaken by the Israeli Regime under Haram al-Sharif, the sacred area of the Islamic religion containing the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Palestine is a real danger. And through observing International Quds Day, which is falling on 2nd August this year, we demand that the Israeli Regime should be pressurized to obey international laws and should vacate the sacred monument, he added.

Naqvi, who is also the Joint Secretary of Majlis Ulema-e-Hind, further noted: “On this day Muslims around the globe also protest against the illegal occupation of Muslim land and express solidarity with the entire Palestinian society which has been surrounded, encircled, crippled, tortured, massacred, humiliated, besieged and being systematically destroyed and assimilated by the Zionist regime.
