Ayatollah Jannati warns against enemy plot to divide Muslims
Tehran Interim Friday prayers leader Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati warned Muslim nations against the US, Zionist regime plot to divide the Muslims.
“The US and Zionist regime are behind Iraq’s recent unrest and the rebellion originated from Washington's plot to divide Muslims for creating situation similar to Syria. All ethnic factions in Iraq -- the Shiite and Sunni Muslims should come together based on command of the Holy Qur’an.”
He pointed to the continued crackdown of peaceful Bahraini protesters by the government troops and noted that oppressed nation of Bahrain should continue with peaceful approach toward democracy and they should resist to the difficulties, imposed on them to make a better future for the generations to come.
In the meantime, Jannati who heads the Guardian Council noted that all elections held by the Islamic Republic during the past three decades have been healthy and fair.
“Islamic Republic has never forced anybody to attend the election process or to whom he or she should vote for; all people who had been qualified based on the constitution have been always allowed to register as a candidate.”
Reminding the sedition of post-presidential election in 2009, Tehran’s interim Friday prayers leader added that US and Zionist regime and their elements, including the terrorist Mujahedeen Khalq Organization (MKO), monarchists and other dissidents calling for “free election” to question the safety of the elections already held in Iran and provoke social-political unrest.
