AEOI head: Iran treated as normal IAEA member from now on

Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi said the International Atomic Energy Organization (IAEA) will treat his country as a normal member from now on that it has confirmed Tehran's compliance with the July nuclear deal.

"Iran is considered as a normal member of the Agency after the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) as conditions have differed and are not like the past," Salehi told reporters in Tehran on Tuesday.

Noting that the roadmap of cooperation between Iran and the IAEA has been finalized after the nuclear deal, he said, "The quality and promotion of the new cooperation to implement the JCPOA, the Additional Protocol (to the NPT) and inspections have all been foreseen in the roadmap" that was signed between Tehran and the IAEA in July, he added.

IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano announced on Monday that Tehran and the UN nuclear watchdog agency have entered a new era of relations.

The IAEA chief confirmed in an official statement on Saturday night that Iran has complied with all its undertakings in compliance with the July nuclear deal in Vienna, preparing the way for the full annulment of all the sanctions against Iran in the next hour.
