Int’l Hotel Expo opens in Tehran

The Fifth International Tourism and Hotel Industry Exhibition opened on Tuesday at Tehran’s Milad Tower.

More than 30 tourism agencies, seven major hotel chains, a number of private tourism companies, 13 recreational centers and 15 foreign tourism companies attended the event, CHTN reported.

Thailand, Turkey, Syria, Cyprus, Italy, the Netherlands and Malaysia are participating in the exhibition, which will display the tourism attractions of their countries during the four-day event.

Iran, the land of natural and historical attractions, has become a tourism hub in the region.

The Iranian tourism has developed since past few years and many public and private institutions strive to prepare the best facilities for attracting more local and international tourists, including suitable accommodation.

The hotel industry is very vital for tourism industry, as they are mutually advantageous.

Promotion of tourism, rapid industrial progress, renovation of historical sites and establishment of tourist hubs are factors that boost the hotel industry.

Establishment of cultural and political relations between countries, expansion of free trade zones and opening up of economy further lead to a revolutionary growth of the sector.

Developing the tourism sector and related fields without investing in hotel industry is unprofitable.

The domestic hotel industry is experiencing growth, as fewer Iranians travel abroad due to the rise in the value of US dollar.

Iranian authorities offer extensive financial support to hoteliers and encourage them to develop the industry. In fact, the development of hotel industry will create new jobs and boost economy.

Subsequently, the diversity of experience in hotel management is vital for Iran’s hotel industry and the authorities should hold courses and seminars to enlighten hoteliers with the latest experiences and facilities in the sector.

The employment of professionals in hotels is imperative. For instance, Malaysian hoteliers employ foreign professionals to work in Malaysia.

Hotels in Iran need more attention and we should use the experience of other countries to attract more tourists.
