Currency fluctuations favor tourism
The number of tourists arriving in Iran has increased after the recent fluctuations in Iran’s currency market.
Announcing this, Manouchehr Jahanian, the deputy head of Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization for tourism affairs, said the rise in dollar’s value has reduced the number of Iranians travelling abroad.
“The current situation must be seen as an opportunity for Iran’s tourism industry,” he said, adding that tourism agencies have been encouraged to bring in more foreign tourists since the dollar’s value has increased.
He said many Iranians cancelled plans to visit foreign countries as the traveling costs are on the rise, while causing domestic tourism to boom.
“The current situation of dollar in Iran has balanced the arrivals and departures in the country,” he said, adding that the number of tourists travelling abroad has always been twice the number of arrivals.
Due to its many historical sites and natural attractions, Iran ranks among top tourism destinations in the world.
Iranian hospitability, handicrafts and cuisines as well as their rich civilization and culture are famous in the world.
Despite the false news reports broadcast every day by Western media outlets, Iran is still a favorable destination for people interested in historical, natural and cultural tourism.
