Hundreds of people poured into the streets of the Saudi city of Qatif to express anger at the Riyadh government over the execution of prominent Shia Cleric Sheikh Nimr Baqir al-Nimr. Meanwhile, police in Bahrain fired tear gas at hundreds of people protesting Nimr's execution and carrying pictures of the cleric in a standoff in the Shia Muslim village of Abu-Saiba, West of the capital Manama.

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has strongly condemned the execution of prominent Shia cleric Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr, saying the move by the regime in Riyadh is reminiscent of atrocities carried out by ISIL Takfiri terrorists.
