A collection of Persian calligraphy works and illuminations was put on display in an exhibition, which opened at the Russian State Library’s Center of Oriental Literature in Moscow on Saturday.


According to Mehr news agency, the exhibition entitled “Messenger of Kindness” has been organized by the library and the Iranian Embassy in Moscow to commemorate the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (S), which was January 19.

 About 40 works by Iranian artists Ghaffar Qanbarpur and Rahim Charkhi have been put on display at the exhibit.

 Speaking at the opening ceremony, the director of the library Victor Fedorov asked for more cultural relations with Iran.

 He expressed happiness over expansion of bilateral relations and said that Iran and Russia with their rich history need to be friends and collaborate more.

 Iranian ambassador in Moscow Mehdi Sanaii also expressed his gratitude to the director of the library for holding the exhibit. He also thanked the two artists for their works.

 The exhibit will be running in the library for five days.

Exhibition of Persian Calligraphy Works Opens at Bashkortostan Museum

An exhibition of calligraphy works by Iranian artists opened at the National Museum of Bashkortostan in Ufa, the capital city of Bashkortostan, an autonomous republic in the Russian Federation.


According to CHN citing ISNA, a selection of works with the central theme of Quranic verses created by Iranian calligrapher Ali Ganji and illuminator Maryam Emami have been put on display at the exhibit entitled “A Window to the Sky.

Mufti of Bashkortostan Talaat Safa Tajeddine, the founder of Ihlas, an Islamic center for artistic and cultural activities, Muhammad Galimov, and the Director of the National Museum of Bashkortostan Valiullin Gali Faizrakhmanov were among the participants in the opening ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, Talaat Safa Tajeddine asked for expansion of Quranic calligraphy works by Iranian masters in the educational centers across his country.

Muhammad Galimov who has organized the exhibit in collaboration with the Embassy of Iran in Moscow expressed his happiness over holding such event in his country.

He hoped that the program would help deepen relations between the people of Bashkortostan and Iran.

The exhibit will run for a week and then will travel to other cities across Russia.

Iranian artworks on show at Malaysian Museum

Dozens of calligraphies and paintings by Iranian contemporary artists and several other countries were put on display at the Malaysian Islamic Arts Museum on Tuesday.


According to IRNA, the exhibition titled ‘Noon val-Qalam’ features a collection of works by the Iranian, Japanese and Malayan masters of Islamic calligraphy.
Iranian calligraphies were welcomed by the art lovers and foreign tourists on the first day of the exhibition which will run till May 10.
The exhibition displays artworks by the Iranian artists including Ahmad Mostafa, Karamali Shirazi, Golnaz Fathi, Ebrahim Olfat, Mohamamd Bozorgi, Maryam Qanbariyan, Ali Reza Karimpour, Mohammad Reza Amouzadeh and Yousef Rezaei.
The Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak told the inaugural ceremony that the artistic exhibitions have constructive impacts on the nations’ cultures.
They can help promote the society’s prosperity by presenting educational programs, he said.

Calligraphy exhibit to highlight quotes from Ali Hatami’s movies’s-movies’s-movies

An exhibition of calligraphy by Sepideh Mobarhan featuring everlasting quotes by various characters from celebrated director Ali Hatami’s movies will be held at the Sarv Gallery.

The exhibition, which has been organized to commemorate the 17th anniversary of Hatami’s death, will open on Friday.

Hatami died of a brain tumor on December 7, 1996 in Tehran.
Hatami’s daughter actress Leila Hatami, actors Jamshid Mashayekhi, Ali Dehkordi, Reza Ruygari, Rahim Noruzi and several other artists will attend the opening ceremony of the exhibition.
In his films, Hatami developed a personal style that was characterized by melodious dialogue and traditional Iranian ambiance created through architecture and set design.
His made his debut with the musical “Hassan the Bald” in 1969. Acclaimed films “Mother”, “The Suitor” and “Kamalolmolk” are among his credits.

Malaysian museum to hang Iranian calligraphy works

Works by a number of Iranian calligraphers will be showcased in an exhibition at the Islamic Arts Museum in Malaysia.

The exhibition, which will open on December 10, will put works by over 30 other artists from 8 countries on display.

The museum has announced that the exhibit will run until May 10, 2014.
Veteran calligraphers Nasrollah Afjeii, Karamali Shirazi, Mohammad Bozorgi and Ahmad Mostafa are among the Iranian artists whose works will be displayed, said Art Advisor of the museum Farah Hakemi.
The museum has been looking for commonalities between modern art and old Islamic art, and the result has become a collection of a variety of artworks, she added.
The museum is home to a valuable treasure of Islamic art collected from the Middle East, East Asia and the Indian Subcontinent.
