Annual symposium of Iranian archaeologists opens

The 11th Annual Symposium of Iranian Archaeology opened at the National Museum of Iran in Tehran on Saturday.

Veteran archeologists including Ali-Akbar Sarfaraz, Mehdi Rahbar, Mohammad-Rahim Sarraf and several foreign experts attended the opening ceremony of the symposium.

The latest discoveries and excavations in Iranian archaeological sites are scheduled to be discussed during the event, which runs until December 18.

In addition, the latest publications on Iranian cultural heritage and archaeological excavations are being offered in an exhibit, which opened on the sidelines of the symposium.

The gathering is sponsored by the Archaeological Research Center of Iran (ARCI), which is affiliated with the Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Organization.
