Russian pundit: Saudi Hezbollah listing designed to undermine war on terror
The decision by the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (PGCC) to designate the Lebanese Hezbollah as a “terrorist group” is meant to undermine the effectiveness of the ongoing regional campaign against terrorism and extremism in Syria, a Russian pundit said on Thursday.

Speaking to FNA in Dushanbe, Igor Pantrokinko said the Saudi-led listing of Hezbollah is designed to open up a new front against Iran and its policies in the region.

According to him, the Hezbollah listing is worthless as those behind the campaign have not provided any evidence to substantiate their baseless claims.

He noted that Hezbollah is helping the Syrian government in the war on terrorism and the Saudis stand no chance in confronting the resistance, "and hence they have decided to weaken Hezbollah politically".

The Russian pundit further said Hezbollah is a bone in the throat of Saudi Arabia and (the usurper regime of) Israel, adding that their goal is to topple the government of Bashar Assad, which is a huge barrier for their regional policies.
