Noting that the west is in the brink of another experience; i.e. the regional revolutions, Ali Larijani said at the open session of the Islamic Consultative Assembly on Sunday that making of a blasphemous film on the prophet of Islam and publication of cartoons in the French paper is another example of the west's new blunder.
The Iranian parliament speaker made it clear the prophet's status is too lofty to be humiliated by such mean behaviors. He added that it is the western culture and its politicians that proved their frivolity and hid behind the spurious pretext of freedom of expression to unleash the gravest insult to freedom and thought.
The Iranian official said, “This adamancy and inhumane act of blaspheming Prophet Mohammad (SAWA) not only does not show their might and power of logic and insistence on freedom; but it is more like hooliganism in the scene of the world policy and it is an instance of the west’s miscalculations vis-à-vis Muslims.”
Noting that the west will sense the depth of the Muslims’ hatred in future, Larijani stressed, “Once more the Majlis warns the US, and some Arab countries to reform this silly conduct and not intensify enmity via killing of demonstrators; or else they will be more entangled in this sacred wrath.”
