According to Press TV, tens of thousands of Yemenis attended a ceremony marking Prophet Mohammed's birthday in the northern city of Sa'ada on Sunday.
Meanwhile, during protests in the southern province of Hadhramaut, two anti-regime activists were killed in clashes with the police.
Protesters also flooded the streets in the southern city of Taizz, calling for the prosecution of Saleh, who has travelled to the United States.
Yemeni Army’s personnel joined the protests in some towns.
Saleh is expected to officially resign his post under a power transfer deal initiated by the Arab grouping of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council and aimed at defusing the political crisis in the country.
He arrived in the United States on January 29 to receive ‘medical treatment’ for injuries he sustained in an attack on the presidential palace in the capital Sana’a in June 2011.
