Leader stresses massive turnout on Election Day

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution expressed confidence today that the Iranian people will deliver a resounding slap in the face of Global Arrogance in the parliamentary polls this Friday, much more thunderous than the one dealt last February 11, during the millions-strong nationwide rallies on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution.

According to IRIB, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said the nation will put on display its unwavering resoluteness on Election Day before the stunned eyes of the enemies.

He was addressing a gathering in Tehran of thousands of people from all walks of life, including the families of martyrs and the war disabled.

Saying the upcoming election “are of high sensitivity compared with those held in the past years,” the Leader added that global front of arrogance can do nothing when faced with the strong will of the Iranian nation.

Noting the vain propaganda tirade of Global Arrogance in a bid to dissuade people from participating in the election, he said: “All over the world, the lively atmosphere of elections symbolizes a nation’s awareness and resolute will; therefore in any country, the massive participation of people in elections is the sign of the nation’s alertness and its spirit of harmony with the system.”

Ayatollah Khamenei referred to the normally low turnout of people for the presidential polls that are held in the US every four years, pointing out that “this dismal presence is in no way comparable to the massive turnout of Iranian people in the presidential elections, as happened three years ago, as well as in the last round of parliamentary polls four years ago.”

The aim of the feverish propaganda of Global Arrogance, he added, is to try to take reduce this enthusiastic presence of the Iranian nation.”

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution said, “What is very important in the election is the massive presence of people because the more people participate the more firmly the Majlis will be able to serve the nation, and such a parliament will strongly convey the voice of each and every individual to the ears of the world people.”

He continued: “This round of the elections is sensitive because Global Arrogance has aimed all its arrows against the Iranian nation; therefore people should stand firm and show their steadfastness, making the enemy realize that it cannot despair this nation.”

On overtly provocative utterances of the ringleaders of Global Arrogance on increasing pressures and sanctions to dampen the hopes of the Iranian nation, The Leader of the Islamic Revolution stressed: “The West, especially the US and its Zionist surrogate want to prevent Iranian people from continuing the exemplary path that has inspired public awakening in the Islamic World, in a bid to insinuate other nations that the progressive Iranian nation is no longer the model it was.”
