He said that the present awakening is diametrically opposed to the past situation and seems determined to go from strength to strength at a pace speedier than the opposite front.

The meeting was held to commemorate the historic 19th of Bahman (February 8) on which in 1979 the Air Force pledged allegiance to the Father of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini (may his soul rest in peace).

The Commander-in-Chief said: today the slogans of the Iranian people are echoing throughout the region and beyond, to the extent that states that used to toe the line of Global Arrogance are now alongside the Iranian nation in pursuit of the same goals and slogans."

He said: we don't say the Iranian people have made the recent developments in the region; however, the impact of awareness and awakening of the Iranian people cannot be ignored in the Islamic uprisings sweeping the region.

Ayatollah Khamenei called the Islamic Republic of Iran the core of awareness and Islamic Awakening in the region, saying: The Islamic system is now the way for real, lasting, enduring, and defensible identity of all Muslims.

According to him, the main ideals pursued by the Islamic Republic system, in addition to inviting the world towards spiritual values are: trust in God Almighty, the honor and dignity of Muslims, making maxim use of all capacities, as well as the rich natural and national potentials.

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution said systems modeled on the western civilization have failed to bring prosperity and harmony for human beings. On the other hand, he added, the West and its admirers have gained nothing from their culture of depravity and distance from spiritual values, which have badly eroded the foundations of the family, with injustice, insecurity and lack of welfare rife in the society.
