Palestinians attain another resounding victory in global scene

On the verge of December 11, which marks the anniversary of the approval of UN General Assembly Resolution 194, emphasizing the right of Palestinian refugees to return to their homeland; this UN affiliated body has ratified eight new resolutions against the Zionist regime, registering another resounding victory for the Palestinian people in the global scene.

These resolutions were unanimously approved, upon the issuance of the resolution demanding the usurper Israeli regime to join the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).

Among these resolutions, the resolution which urged provision of assistance to Palestinian refugees was approved with 167 votes  in favor and one vote against it, in addition to 11 abstention votes from states such as the US and Canada. Also the resolution on implementation of Geneva Convention which calls for support for civilians in occupied Palestinian territories, including East Quds, was approved with 163 votes in favor and 6 votes against it.

Previously, on the occasion of the international day of solidarity with Palestinian people on November 29, the UN General Assembly had approved six resolutions against the reprehensible crimes committed by Zionist regime against Palestinians in occupied territories.

Sixty seven years after the occupation of Palestine, the world is still witness to usurper Israeli regime’s bellicose and hawkish policies in occupied territories, urging the illegal Zionist entity to comply with human rights in Palestinian territories, and to end its despicable crimes against people of Palestine.

The Palestinian people have been driven out of their homes and hearths twice. Firstly, in the year 1948 upon the announcement of establishment of the usurper Israeli regime and occupation of Palestine, the Palestinian nation were forced to leave their homeland. Moreover, in the year 1967, in the six-day war in June, Zionist regime’s army occupied West Bank, Gaza Strip, and East Quds, driving hundreds of thousands of Palestinians from their homes. The Zionist regime also developed Zionist settlements, compelling Palestinians to seek refuge in neighboring countries and other regions across the globe.

Meanwhile, according to UN statistical figures, currently there are more than 5.9 million Palestinian refugees.

Based on UN General Assembly Resolution 194, which was approved on December 11, 1948, all Palestinians maintain the inalienable right to return to their homeland. This is while the Zionist regime’s ringleaders have always breached the unquestionable right of Palestinians to return to their home country.
